Event Manager/ Venue Events Manager

About the Venue

Compass Arena is a versatile event venue hosting a wide range of events including trade shows, live music, DJ events, corporate functions, seminars, and private events. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Event Manager to take ownership of planning, organizing, and executing events that drive revenue and build long-term partnerships.

Position Overview

The Event Manager will be responsible for bringing events into the venue and managing them from concept to execution. This role combines event planning, client relations, logistics, and on-site management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working with promoters, performers, vendors, and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events including concerts, DJ nights, trade shows, corporate events, and seminars.

  • Source and work with event organizers, promoters, and corporate clients.

  • Manage event calendars, timelines, and logistics.

  • Coordinate vendors, production teams, AV, security, staffing, and rentals.

  • Oversee event setup, breakdown, and on-site operations.

  • Create and manage event budgets and track expenses.

  • Ensure compliance with venue policies, safety regulations, and permits.

  • Act as the main point of contact before, during, and after events.

  • Assist with event marketing and promotion in collaboration with promoters and the venue team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in event management, venue operations, or event production.

  • Experience working with live events, festivals, corporate events, or trade shows preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and event days as needed.

  • Knowledge of event logistics, production, and vendor coordination.

  • Budget management experience.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience

  • Existing network of promoters, DJs, corporate clients, or event partners.

  • Experience with ticketing platforms and event management software.

  • Marketing or sponsorship experience.

  • Background in hospitality, entertainment, or production.
